What is a RIP?
A RIP (Raster Image Processor) translates files from one computer language to another. It is needed to
allow computers to communicate with non-postscript devices including inkjet printers.
• When do you need a RIP?
If you have an inkjet printer and wish to print halftones or control FM dither (squaredot), you need a RIP.
A RIP allows the inkjet head to "pulsate" in order to create halftones. In this case ONLY are RIPs created
equal. Read more to find out what makes AccuRIP a superior solution.
• What makes AccuRIP superior to other RIP solutions?
AccuRIP delivers the most efficient work-flow. It was engineered to meet the unique needs of screenprinters.
The other RIP solutions available are higher priced solutions that have been repackaged for the
screen-print industry or sold as screen-print solutions even when though they include features that screen-
printers do not need such as color management and cutting. These extra features which can amount to as
many as several dozen only serve to slow down processing and leave the user with a more complicated
interface and more steps to follow. AccuRIP is 21 megs of clean, intelligent code. AccuRIP takes over 10
times LESS SYSTEM SPACE than other solutions that can leave over 300 megs in your system.
• AccuRIP is just 21 megs.
• AccuRIP automatically builds a driver based on your printer.
• AccuRIP is a core service - available in all of your applications as a print driver.
• Simply go to PRINT and AccuRIP is ready to work.
AccuRIP does not alter your system as other solutions do and it does not remove any drivers as others do.
Never work with an outdated driver because AccuRIP automatically builds drivers as needed.
• Can you speed up an inkjet device?
The speed of an inkjet as its print head moves across the media is set and cannot be sped up. Others
make ambiguous statements that make you believe that their RIP is speeding up the printing process. The
speed of a RIP is in how it translates the file and sends it to your device. AccuRIP is the fastest at sending
the data - so fast it only takes seconds. Your time savings is in this release rate as well as in work-flow.
AccuRIP is so fast you will never again sit and wonder if your file is actually processing. In the time it takes
another RIP just to "load" your file into the RIP application then process your data, AccuRIP is already
printing. The instant your print progress bar leaves the computer screen your inkjet head is in motion!
• I just want to print halftones with no hassles or extra work.
After the tasks of designing, file building and color separating what should be a simple process on your list
is often complicated by other solutions. By offering those screen print specific features for black and white
channel output required by screen printers and eliminating the unnecessary color management features,
for example, of other more expensive solutions the RIP process with AccuRIP has been significantly
simplified and the RIP rate accelerated. Stochastic printing is a fantastic option for screen printers but not
easily achievable before AccuRIP. The stochastic option is now available for both Macintosh and Windows
users.
Ready to RIP Technology
No need to launch an application. AccuRIP is always ready.
One and Done!
That's right, once configured AccuRIP becomes a "driver" selection available in the print windows of ALL
your graphics applications. As a "core" service in your computer there's no need to run an extra
application, This makes AccuRIP much "faster" than any out of date RIP application.
